It's been a while since anything new came up about the new DIE HARD sequel, but news comes today. A few more details have surfaced, concerning the upcoming international adventure that awaits the NYPD badass.
So far, we know that Bruce Willis will be coming back to battle it out with some Russians with his son in Moscow (I speculate a face-off with both the mob and police). Now, it's coming along that actor Jai Courtney will be filling the role of that son, which is now named Jack McClane.
"I was in Spartacus"
Aparently, he beat out a few other candidates, which included Liam Hemsworth (EXPENDABLES 2), Aaron Paul (BREAKING BAD), James Badge Dale (RUBICON), and D.J. Cotrona (GI JOE: RETALIATION). Quite a competition there if you ask me, all good guys.
An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Also, we now know what the title is going to be: A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD. Apparently following the format of LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD (and before that with DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE), they went with fitting DIE HARD into an expression.
Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.
The ass-kicking movie will be out about a year from now: February 14th, 2013. Valentine's Day.
